OMG....I WANT ONE!!!! They are GORGEOUS Wind. Labs are mischievous but they are the most loving and loyal breed. They chew up your socks and shoes and garbage and everything and then look at you with that face that never seems to grow out of a puppy stage and you can't get mad at them for long...LOL. Ellie was one of 14 pups and we brought her home at 5 weeks and she looked like this tiny little brown teddy bear. In fact I sneezed and she flew underneath the recliner and I had to fish her out. You know how funny it is to see her try and crawl under there now? Someone wrote in the local editorial that Labs are "statistically the #2 biter and people that own them and dogs like Pitts and Rotts etc need to have permits to have them". I was irate. My Dad has had Labs for over 45 years and he said he has never had one biter none of his friends have either. And Rootie and Pitt's aren't bad either...it's the owner not the dog. My Pitt was more laid back than Ellie. You're gonna have your hands full when those little guys really get up and around...LOL. Mischief central...start hanging stuff from the ceilings. Ellie got big enough to walk by the island in the kitchen and just lean up and grab stuff off the counters. Pissed Grandma off royally. Especially when she'd take the whole damn pan of freshly baked cookies off the counter and eat them all...LOL. Got to be even more fun when my niece was out there with her and could walk...Ellie is 6 weeks older than Kaela and the disasters her and the kid would create. Maple syruped the dog all over the carpeted kitchen floors...buttered her, honeyed her, gave her a hair cut, diapered her. Ellie has been through EVERYTHING. Maybe I should tell Dad he needs another pup for baby #2...LOL. Gotta have one for Hannah to grow up with and make an entirely new set of disasters.
